The A Grade produced one of the greatest all-time collapses to fall from a position of strength at 1/109, to be all out for an ordinary 138.
Latest recruit Paul Magarey, fell just one run short of becoming only the seventh player to score a half century on debut in the A Grade since 1957.

On Saturday 14th October 2000, the cricket world rejoiced. Cheers of universal celebration could be heard for after 13 seasons, 127 matches and countless pleas to A-Grade captains for a bowl, Mark Wicks has finally captured his first wicket for Coromandel. With assistance from the safe hands of Darren Cheek (Mark's successor as President) at mid wicket, the moment was completed in front of a crowd of nearly 40.
Fine bowling performance by first game player Jeremy McCormick, capturing two wickets on debut, on an otherwise disappointing match for the A Grade.
It was a day in which every player in the side, except wicket-keeper and A Grade debutant Mike Matthews, was given a chance to roll the arm over.
